Hello:

I keep hoping to find info on Erie ice conditions here.  Can folks recommend somewhere else to check?  Looking to fish St. Williams but wondering if the ice was destroyed with the warm weather and winds.  And I know, I can call the outfitters.  But I would like to meet up with someone for a day if possible too.  Have all my own gear, but most of my friends think ice-fishing is insanity.  Cheers.

Yes ice on St. Williams is toast, Bayside pulled their huts:

After all this mild weather and rain we have pulled all of our huts off the ice due to ice conditions. To everyone asking if it will be “safe” by the weekend my answer is no. Tomorrow is another warm day with 10-15mm rain. 1 cold night on Friday will not change much out there. If you have a reservation and haven’t heard from me yet you will shortly.

I'm not fishing this weekend. Everywhere I checked was sketchy due to warm weather and high winds. sorry

Huts back out in St. WILLIAMs?  Just want to clarify in case I go this weekend.  PM me if looking for company.  Have all my own gear, including ATV and sled but would also share hut rental.

Yes I heard Bayside pulled the huts back out, but call them to make sure (519) 586-2666

Jimmy Riggin has huts out this weekend.

I will let you know if I head out, but not looking good this weekend, family day and wife has plans.

Lol.... I just posted another topic for this very reason.  So many conflicting reports.  I also heard Jimmy Riggin' is booked solid and running the huts all Family Day Weekend.  Bayside is back out too?  Sweet.  Guess I'd better get the gear organized for Monday!  :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

And thanks to you all for the reports.  It sucks getting all kitted out, driving down there, only to have to turn around and come home.

Went out at St.Williams today.  Still 8-10" of ice out there but there's open water areas as well.  Bayside huts were closed and after talking to Woodwards, they might be pulling their huts as well.  With warm weather, rain, and high winds predicted for next week, I don't think the ice will be safe for long.
