Happy New Year everyone! First report of 2019
Lake Erie: Panfish limits were being caught at Lee Road Marina while those targeting walleye had some success in the dumping ground east of Bolles Harbor. Anglers trolled in 21 to 24 feet of water. Walleye were also found in Brest Bay, along with heading east to the Ohio/Michigan boundary straight line east from Bolles Harbor.

Lake Erie & Tributaries
Cattaraugus Creek is running a little high at 1080 cubic feet per second, while all other Lake Erie tributaries are currently in prime or near-prime shape. Steelhead fishing has been quite good lately, with quality catch reports coming from the Chautauqua County streams and Eighteenmile Creek. Some fresh silvery steelhead have moved in on recent high water events as well. Steelhead commonly take flies such as egg imitations, nymphs and wooly buggers. Drift anglers do well with egg sacs, beads and jigs with grubs fished under a float.
