Well new to this lake Erie fishing. Figure I would try something new till salmon fishing. Have a few questions and going to ask for some input.
If I was driving up from Toronto were would be one of the better spots to launch?
Are people fishing for pickeral already If so were?
What's the best way to fish for them jig troll? If troll should I use my down riggers or plainer boards.
What are the better lures that I should make sure I have in my box.

Long Point, Port Burwell and Crystal beach are the most popular launch points.
Walleye is open all year on Lake Erie, so no problems there, but the problem is the floating ice on Erie, lots and lots of it right now and until it clears not many going out.
Troll is best, no need for anything, just deep diving crankbaits and good to go. You can use downrigger or plainer with any crankbait too.
Right now the bite is hot in Detroit River, jigging, getting limits. I am shore fishing and caught a few, jigs with worms, bondy baits, large twisters, Wyandotte worms
