Ice on the Grand below the dam in Dunnville
« on: February 18, 2021, 07:32:59 AM »
Sorry, my knowledge of the area is not great.  I meant the dam in Dunnville, not Caledonia.

Just wondering if there is fishable ice below the dam?  Also, is the bait place at the marina open?  If so, what time do they open up?  Tks.

Just wondering if this warm weather has wiped out the ice completely?  Three of us hit it on Feb. 21.  My buddy lost maybe a 3 lb walleye at the hole, I saw two on my camera but would not bite.  We would not mind trying to get the skunk off if there is still ice.  Tks.

I believe walleye season is now closed until opener. Last post from fishmasters

Thanks for the reply.  I was not sure if the river below the dam was considered part of Lake Erie or not.  Which I believe is open all year for walleye.  I tried to find it in a quick online scan of the regs, but did not.  For the record, I would not have fished it without confirming.  Tks again.

Good point, I don't know either, I just figured fishmasters would know. I will check the regs as well if I can figure them out. I get dizzy reading them
