Anyone getting channel cats yet? How's the bite in Dunnville and fishmasters?

They started getting them about a month ago. Should still be lots of cats around. Good Luck!

We caught some last week, cut bait worked best and get there early if you want the prime spots.

Thanks we tried on the weekend and no channels, just mudcats. Better than a skunk

Seen quite a few caught off the pier in Port Burwell over the weekend. Kids were having a blast Next few weeks should be good!!!!!! :D

Hey thanks for the heads up. I fished the dams on the weekend and didn't get much. I will try the Erie piers. Thanks :thumbup:

I get them all year in the lower river but more in the spring. Landed a 5 pounder the other day, so yes we are still getting them. Cut suckers was the bait.

I float fish for them all summer long downstream from caledonia to dunnville, its a blast, lots of surprises too, wallys, bass, mooneyes, drum, carp, suckers, but for the most part channels, not the giants you get below dunnville in the spring, but a lot of fun, fish average about 3 lbs, 5 lbr is on the large size, but my pb for the upper river is close to 10, so theres some good sized residents

I got the big one below dunnville bottom fishing never tried float fishing. What do you use for bait?Thanks.

Try a whole worm wacky rig it on a small hook and drift it down the deep pools you will catch everything carp bass walleye and catfish. GL

I cant find anything that beats a half a dewey when the water is warm, cut bait definately shines before mid may, but a live leech comes close, have fun
