Title: Mitchells Bay
Post by: TINYTIM on March 08, 2019, 02:42:25 PM
Could anyone help with a bait shop and ice thickness for Mitchells bay. I would like to come fish it on tuesday when the wind dies down a bit. Also could you tell me how far the walk out is please. Thanks in advance...

You can get bait at bass haven (at the end of winter line)
I was out as far as 2km today and the ice was a consistent 12+

I cant really report on finding quality fish.  I found quantity today, but all dinks.  If I go back out, I'm going for a long walk, about 3.5km north west of the bay.  It's a good area in the summer and there seemed to be a lot of activity over there today.  For what it's worth, I saw a small SUV drive out that way today, and tonnes of ATV's, so the ice must be pretty good all the way.

X2 what Bulls said, I was out today and ice is good, but could only catch dinks. No jumbos at all, actually nothing bigger than 7 inches. Good luck.

Action has picked up, perch were biting on the weekend and good sizes. But not sure how things are looking after the mild spell.
