I have a 14’ aluminum and wanted some opinions on if it would be safe to use it out on st Clair in the summer? I fish from light house off shore in fall but bought a boat this week...a sales men at bass pro said he thought it gets to rough for a boat that size...thanks kevin

It depends on the wind direction and your experience level really. Off shore winds are better for smaller boat since the waves are not as big. Also early morning and evening are best with less winds. Not much protected water on LSC so if you do go out, check the weather report and likely stay off mid day 1-2 pm strongest winds generally. GL!

You can easily fish in a 14 foot boat for muskies in the fall at light house - I fish with my 12 foot tinny *(in the river only) - but you don't have to go far in the fall to get muskies. Watch the weather, and on a calm day you can easily do some trolling or casting near the Thames.

Wind coming off the same shore is good as has been stated - north winds are worst esp in fall and west is a close second worst IMO - just stay in close and if you want a musky you can go fish the mouth of the thames - I've caught 2 within 100 yards in an anchored boat casting for them - just hope you've got an entire day to kill

:)

Goood luck!!
